Podiatrists help if you have foot problems, shoe problems, unable to look afterthe skin or nails on your feet or have problems with using your feet.

When should I see them?

  • You are unable to walk or put weight on your foot
  • You have difficulties with your feet, ankles or other lower limb bones and joints. For example, pain, ingrown toenails, corns and calluses (thick, hardened layers of skin on your feet)
  • You want help to reduce your risk of falling.

What services do they provide?

They can:

  • Check the skin and nails on your feet and support you with any foot hygiene issues
  • Fit orthoses for your feet or ankles to help keep you walking or standing
  • Give you advice on how to improve your walking, running or transfers if you can’t put much weight on your feet
  • Help you find the right shoe if you have painful feet or need to wear a foot or ankle orthoses.
