OTs (for short) help you with everyday activities that you want or need to do.

When should I see them?

  • You want to improve your ability to look after yourself - for example, showering, dressing
  • You want to develop skills for education or work (paid or unpaid)
  • You want to take part in new activities - for example, playing a sport, painting, gardening
  • You want to develop day to day skills, like managing money, cooking meals and using public transport
  • You want help with moving around more easily in your home or place of work, and need equipment or assistive technology.

What services do they provide?

They can:

  • Improve your independence and confidence in activities
  • Help you to get along with other people
  • Help you to overcome physical problems
  • Help you learn new ways of doing activities
  • Give you equipment to help you with everyday activities
  • Give you activities to help to calm you down or help you feel okay about yourself
  • Help you participate in your important life roles
  • Change your environment to make things easier for you around your home or where you work.
