Dietitians can give you advice on eating and drinking for your individual needs.
When should I see them?
- You want help with what foods and drinks you should be eating and drinking
- You receive your nutrition via a tube
- You want help with your body weight – if you have gained or lost weight
- You do not feel like eating or can’t stop eating
- You have difficulties preparing or eating food
- You need a special diet for heart disease, diabetes, food intolerance or allergy, constipation, diarrhoea or coeliac disease.
What services do they provide?
They will assess your nutritional needs and then work with and support you with planning what to eat and drink.
The plan may include:
- A menu with recipes
- A tube feeding plan
- Education on what to eat / what not to eat
- Advice on how to make food easier to buy, prepare, and eat
- Advice on nutritional supplements.
