Purpose
The overall aim is to optimise the rehabilitation outcomes of physiotherapy programs for people with injuries and disabilities. Other objectives are:
- To provide an education resource - provides physiotherapist with an array of exercise ideas.
- To archive the treatment ideas and training strategies of experienced physiotherapists – provides a means by which the treatment ideas and training strategies devised by experienced physiotherapists can be documented for others to use
- To provide physiotherapists with a simple way of compiling personalised and professional looking exercise programs for their clients.
Additional Information
There are currently over 1,000 exercises aimed at improving strength, flexibility, function and fitness.
You can search for exercises by different categories including: Condition; Exercise type; Body part; Equipment available; Exercise difficulty; Age category; and Image orientation.
Each exercise has an accompanying illustration and photograph. In addition, each exercise has instructions, aims and precautions written in two formats – one appropriate for a person with an injury or disability, and the other appropriate for a physiotherapist.
The website enables you to select specific exercises and then compile into a personalised exercise program. Video demonstration provided.
