Purpose
All modules have a mental health component and address specific considerations for treating young people who identify as coming from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds, or as LGBTIQ+.
Additional Information
Module 1: Youth Mental Health (6 hours CPD) covers essential skills and knowledge needed when seeing young people in general practice, including best-practice recommendations and resources about, engaging young people, anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder and psychosis.
Module 2: Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) and Sexual Health in Young People (6 hours CPD), builds on the skills acquired in module 1 and expands them with a focus on AOD and Sexual Health Issues.
Module 3: Developmental Disorders and Intellectual Disability in Young People (6 hours CPD), aims to provide aims to provide allied health professionals and GPs with evidence-based skills for identifying, assessing and caring for young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attentional Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and co-occurring mental health issues.
