Why did we make My Allied Health Space?
We made this website to support the ‘Allied health capability framework: disability and complex support needs’.
We call it the Framework.
DHHS wants to make sure people with disability get supports that:
- meet their needs
- give them choice and control
- help them reach their goals.
When supports can do these things, we call them good quality services.
DHHS wrote the Framework to help allied health workers to give good quality services.
Sometimes people with disability cannot find good quality services when they need them.
We need more allied health workers who can give good quality services.
What is the Framework?
DHHS wants to help allied health workers to give good quality services to NDIS participants.
They wrote a document about this called the ‘Allied health capability framework: disability and complex support needs’.
We call it the Framework.
DHHS talked to lots of people to help write the Framework, including:
- people with disability
- families
- carers
- advocates – people who speak up for people with disability
- allied health workers
- universities
- governments.
The Framework tells allied health workers how to give good quality supports.
